General Android steps
- Open the phone’s Settings app.
- Open About phone, About device, or Software information.
- Find Build number, Version number, OS version, or MIUI/HyperOS version.
- Tap the version entry seven times and confirm the phone lock credential if requested.
- Return to Settings and search for “Developer options”.
Samsung and Google Pixel
Samsung usually places Build number under Settings → About phone → Software information. Google Pixel usually places it under Settings → About phone → Build number. After seven taps, Developer options normally appears under System or near the bottom of Settings.
Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO
Open Settings → About phone and repeatedly tap the OS version, MIUI version, or HyperOS version. Developer options is commonly located under Additional settings. Xiaomi devices may also require “USB debugging (Security settings)” for some computer-assisted operations.
OPPO, realme, vivo, and iQOO
On OPPO and realme, open About device and look under Version for the version or build number. On vivo and iQOO, check About phone or Software information. Menu names can differ between ColorOS, realme UI, OriginOS, and Funtouch OS.
Huawei, Honor, Motorola, Sony, and OnePlus
Huawei, Honor, Motorola, and Sony commonly use About phone → Build number. OnePlus may place Build number directly under About device or inside the Version screen. If the entry is not visible, search Settings for “Build number” or “Developer options”.
If Developer options still does not appear
- Confirm that you tapped the version entry repeatedly without leaving the screen.
- Unlock administrator or parental restrictions that prevent changing system settings.
- Use the Settings search field because manufacturers move the menu between Android releases.
- Restart Settings or the phone after the “You are now a developer” message appears.
