Scheduled blocking is different from uninstalling
Families often need two distinct rules. A social or entertainment app may be acceptable after homework but unavailable during class or sleep. Another app may be prohibited on the managed phone and should be removed whenever it returns.
Teralivo separates those cases. Scheduled blocking leaves the selected app installed for permitted hours; an uninstall rule removes a specified app after it is detected.
How daily app schedules work
Because the rule is stored as a recurring policy, the parent does not need to sign in every morning and evening. The schedule should still be reviewed when school hours, time zones or family routines change.
- Create one or more time ranges for each day, such as 06:00–08:00 and 21:00–23:59.
- Select a different set of restricted apps for each time range.
- When a restricted app is opened during that period, the phone returns to the Home screen.
- Outside the restricted range, the app can open normally unless it is also on the uninstall list.
How automatic app removal works
Add the name of an app that should not remain on the authorized phone. When Teralivo detects that app, it issues the uninstall action. If it is installed again from Google Play and opened, the rule can remove it again.
Automatic removal is a stronger intervention than a schedule. Use it for a clearly explained device rule, not as a substitute for securing the child’s Google account, purchase approvals or Play Store settings.
Use app-usage reports to choose proportionate rules
Daily usage duration helps distinguish an occasional concern from a recurring pattern. Review the reported minutes before deciding whether an app needs a narrow homework restriction, a bedtime restriction or removal.
Usage duration is more useful when paired with a clear family agreement. It should not be interpreted as the content of messages or proof of harmful behavior.
Deployment checklist and limits
Teralivo manages rules on an already authorized and bound Android phone. It does not replace Google Family Link account controls, network filtering or age-appropriate communication.
- Confirm the exact app name before adding a restriction or uninstall rule.
- Test each rule on the actual Android model and OS version before relying on it.
- Keep essential calling, school, accessibility and emergency apps outside broad restriction lists.
- Allow for device connectivity delays when changing a policy from the web account.
