Frequently asked questions about Teralivo

Understand what is installed, how the device service starts and stops, and whether the phone shows prompts while authorized collection or remote assistance features are active.

Must I install an app on the phone?

No. A computer, USB data cable, and Chrome browser can start the monitoring program without installing any app. If no computer or cable is available, use the Teralivo Setup App temporarily to start the monitoring program. Teralivo Setup can be uninstalled after startup succeeds, and the monitoring program remains after it is uninstalled.

Will there be a Teralivo icon on the phone’s Home screen?

The monitoring program started with a computer, USB data cable, and Chrome does not create a Home-screen icon. After using the Teralivo Setup App to start the monitoring program, you can uninstall Teralivo Setup, so no Setup App icon remains on the Home screen.

Can the monitoring program be seen on the phone?

No. Teralivo is a Linux background monitoring program started through ADB, not a standard Android app. It does not need to be installed and does not appear in the Android system.

Can I uninstall the monitoring service?

No. Teralivo starts the monitoring program through ADB without installing an app, so there is no monitoring app to uninstall.

Can monitoring be stopped?

Yes. Sign in to Teralivo, open Authorized devices, and unbind the phone. Unbinding revokes the device credential and stops future uploads. If the phone is offline, it may not receive the cleanup instruction until it reconnects.

Do I need to grant permissions for location, screen recording, and other features?

No. The monitoring program starts through ADB and does not need to request these permissions.

Does the phone show an indicator during screen, camera, location, audio, or remote assistance use?

No. The monitoring service starts through ADB, so the phone does not display a prompt or notification while screen recording, camera recording, location, audio recording, or remote control is active.

Do I need the device user’s permission?

Use Teralivo only on a phone you own and personally use, where applicable law permits for a minor child, or after the adult device user has provided prior, informed, written consent. Secret monitoring, stalking, harassment, unauthorized recording, and access without permission are prohibited.
