Authorized family device management

Manage and assist authorized family Android phones

Use one web workspace to help a family member with their Android phone, configure device-specific collection schedules, and responsibly manage a minor child’s device where permitted by law.

Family device management for practical support

Teralivo is designed for a small number of Android phones that need individual settings and occasional assistance. A bound phone can be managed from your browser after the required authorization and setup are complete.

  • Help a parent or relative operate and troubleshoot an authorized phone with remote assistance.
  • Configure collection schedules separately for each family device.
  • Review recent device data within the account’s rolling storage allowance.
  • Manage a minor child’s Android phone only when you have legal authority to do so.

Help family members remotely

When an authorized phone is online, remote assistance can help with app navigation, settings, and troubleshooting from a web browser. The session must not be used to bypass the device user’s knowledge, consent, or Android security.

VPN software and restrictive networks can affect the remote display connection, so the family member may still need to help with network or system prompts on the phone.

Adult family members must give prior consent

An adult device user should receive a clear explanation of what Teralivo can collect, who can view the data, how long it is retained, and how device binding can be removed. Obtain prior written consent before binding or accessing an adult family member’s phone.

Relationship alone is not authorization. Secret location tracking, recording, remote access, stalking, harassment, and access without permission are prohibited.

Manage a child’s device responsibly

Parental device management should be age-appropriate, transparent, and limited to a legitimate safety or caregiving purpose. Explain the device rules to the child when appropriate and enable only the data needed for that purpose.

Laws governing children’s privacy, recording, location data, and parental authority vary by jurisdiction. Teralivo does not determine whether a particular use is lawful, so review the rules that apply where you and the child live.

Choose a setup method

For USB binding, use a computer, a data-capable USB cable, and a supported browser without installing Teralivo Setup. For wireless binding, use the Setup App temporarily with Android wireless debugging; it can be uninstalled after binding succeeds.

Teralivo supports authorized phones running Android 12 through Android 16.
