Pair an Android phone with a six-digit wireless debugging code

On supported Android 12 through Android 16 phones, a debugging client can pair over Wi-Fi. The pairing port and six-digit code are temporary and must be used while the system dialog remains open.

Open the pairing dialog

  • Connect the phone to a Wi-Fi network.
  • Open Settings → Developer options → Wireless debugging.
  • Turn on wireless debugging.
  • Tap “Pair device with pairing code”.

Keep the code window open

Do not close the Android dialog that shows the IP address, pairing port, and six-digit code. Closing it can invalidate the code immediately.

If switching to Teralivo Setup closes the dialog, open Android Recent apps, choose split-screen for Settings, and place Teralivo Setup on the other side.

Enter the correct values

  • Use the pairing port shown inside the six-digit-code dialog, not the separate wireless debugging connection port.
  • Enter the current six-digit code without spaces.
  • Submit pairing before the temporary code expires.
  • Keep both apps visible until Teralivo reports that pairing succeeded.

What happens after pairing

Pairing authorizes the local debugging client. Teralivo then establishes the debugging connection, downloads the current authorized device package, obtains the device token, and starts the device service.
